Regional Support Manager – Care Home sector – South Region
**Please note this is still a very hands on role and will need a strong manager with experience previous with managing multi care homes services**

To provide support to a portfolio of homes working under the direction of a Regional Manager.
This support should focus on assisting the home team to be fully compliant with all relevant regulators alongside ensuring the homes meet all company care standards and policies and procedures.
It may require managing homes for periods of time if posts become vacant.
Ensuring homes operate at a high level of commercial success focusing on key indicators such as occupancy, fees and payroll.

Main Roles & Responsibilities:
Health, Safety and Quality
Comply with company policies and procedures, support the home to achieve a minimum of ‘good’ or equivalent rating with CQC.
Focus on ensuring regulatory compliance across all areas including but not exclusive to CQC, CI, Environmental Health
Assist and support the Home Manager to promote health and safety in the work place, assure a safe environment for employees, residents and visitors, complying will all company health and safety policy requirements;
Assist and support the Home Manager to ensure that a systematic and individualised approach to resident care is delivered in accordance with the Care Services Manual and that appropriate documentation is completed and retained;
Assist the Home Manager to ensure the safe management of medicines in accordance with company Care Services policies, current legislation, and the NMC guidelines (NMC guidelines apply in Care Homes with Nursing only);
Assist the Home Manager to continually assess the needs of service users in line with contracts and service specifications and promptly report and investigate complaints from any party;
Be prepared to fulfil the managers role for periods of time if the post was vacant.
Ensure that all mandatory training is undertaken, particularly fire training, and that weekly alarm checks are undertaken and recorded;
Financial and Resource Management
Maintain sound working relationships with regulators, GPs associated with the Home and other appropriate outside agencies;
To support or where necessary manage financial affairs of the Home in accordance with company policies and regulatory requirements;
To support the Home Manager to ensure the home to be managed in line with budgets
To support the Home Manager to maintain fee structures and occupancy in line with agreed strategy.
Support the Home Manager to undertake workforce planning to anticipate team turnover, maternity leave, occupancy or service changes;
Support compliance with company Human Resources Policies and processes for Recruitment, Training, Appraisals, Disciplinary Matters and Supervisions;
Assume 24/7 accountability where given management responsibility for a particular home, delegating where appropriate to suitable team members;
Support the Home Manager to ensure all team duty rotas are compliant with required staffing levels and company policy.
Support the Home Manager and team to ensure all enquiries are managed in accordance with company policy, that all documentation associated with the resident enquiry process is completed accurately;
Support the Home Manager and when necessary assist in devising action plans to ensure occupancy is maintained at the highest possible level.
Strategic Planning and Development
Provide strong, professional leadership in Homes and to Home Managers, ensuring the efficient and economical use of resources available.

Qualification – Recognised Management Qualification
Clinical and non-clinical managers will be considered
Previous experience of working within the care home sector
Experience of working in a senior leadership role
Managing a team
Previous experience of working within the care home sector
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Effective communication and interpersonal skills
Strong leadership skills with the ability to lead a multi-site business
Ability to develop the skills and knowledge of others
Knowledge of the care industry and regulatory framework
Establish good relationships with all regulatory bodies
